Dolores Cahill

Professor of Translational Science, UCD School of Medicine & The Conway Institute

Dolores has expertise in research and innovation in proteomics, protein arrays for biomarker discovery and validation. Her research focuses on translating biomarkers to benefit patients, from gaining insight into disease mechanisms, improved diagnosis and in predicting patients that will respond to a particular treatment.

Since 2005, Dolores is Professor of Translational Science, in the UCD School of Medicine and the Conway Institute. Previously she was a Group Leader of the Protein Technologies Group in the Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Genetics. She has extensive track record of innovation and entrepreneurship and has a portfolio of granted, licensed PCT patents. In 1997, she co-founded a successful biomedical spin-out company from the Max-Planck, Protagen AG, which commercialises high content protein & antibody array technology.

Dolores has also been involved in Innovation & Research Strategy and Policy Development for over 10 years in Ireland, the UK, Germany, Sweden and the EU.
